Thanks for taking the time to visit the Missoula Food Not Bombs Web site! As some of you might know there has been a change concerning the Missoula chapter of Food Not Bombs. We’ve been getting some responses from people who wish to join or help out the group but don’t agree with some of the Food Not Bombs political stances (past and present) and will not join because of this. Please read the post below for more details.
Providing food to the community is our number one priority for us. Therefore, as of last night, we decided to branch away from FNB and change the group’s name to Missoula Cooking For Peace. For us it is important that this is a humanitarian group!

Thank you to everyone for your feedback and support!
Due to concerns by several businesses and people we have talked to about Food Not Bombs, we have decided that we are not going to be starting a Food Not Bombs Chapter in Missoula. Many people have negative connotations associated with the name and the group and are unwilling to donate food or participate, which is not what we want. We want everyone to be involved. We will, however, be discussing the conception of a new organization that runs along the same lines of Food Not Bombs but without any political connotations. It will aim more to the humanitarian side. We just thought you would like to know before tomorrows meeting.
We are having the first Missoula Food Not Bombs meeting this Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at 11 a.m. It will be held in the large meeting room at the Missoula Public Library.
If you are interested in joining, this is the meeting to attend.
